Amitabh Bachchan's KBC 5 Modified

The fifth season of Sony TV’s Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) is all set to be aired on television soon. With every new season, KBC comes up with something new or alters certain rules of the show.

KBC is one of the earliest game show in India to be launched on such a large platform and garner tremendous audience support. This season of the show, hosted by megastar Amitabh Bachchan, aims to expand their reach to smaller cities.

Holding true to their aim, the channel has even changed the time slot of the show from 9 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. slot. "The objective of the time slot is to expand the reach of both the channel and the show. The idea is here to get larger audiences from the smaller towns," said N.P. Singh, COO Multi Screen Media.

The show which goes on air on August 15th has brought about modification and fresh development in the format. The top prize this time around is Rs. 5 crore and the show this year follows a new philosophy “Koi insaan chhota nahi hota” (Don't underestimate anyone). Until last year, there were two safe havens; one at Rs 10,000 and the other at Rs 3,20,000. If the contestant reaches that stage, he or she would take home at least that much money. However, in the new season the contestants would be allowed to choose their own safe havens in the money tree. However, the four lifelines remain the same Audience Poll, Ask an Expert, Phone a Friend and Double Dip.

The show, usually runs for 14 weeks, and will have special themes and special episodes. Actors Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone have already shot for an episode.

The prestigious international publication, People Magazine, has bestowed Akshay Kumar with the ‘Fittest Body ’ title.

Akshay Kumar, as usual though, remains highly modest about the honour that has been bestowed upon him, saying, “I’m not what you call good-looking. Our industry just happens to have excellent directors of photography.” But the fact remains that Akshay has always been lauded as one of the fittest Bollywood actors around and his co-actors, as we hear, have often run to him for fitness tips and mantras.

TV Actor Commits Suicide

Television soap artist, Ashish Kamble, committed suicide at his residence on Sunday. He hanged himself at his Nalasopara residence, leaving a suicide note behind.

Ashish has been working in one of the Doordarshan’s serial. His sudden decision of doing so has shocked many in the industry. The police are investigating on the reason for him committing suicide but circumstances are still unknown.

An official from the Nalasopara police said, "Kamble was staying in a rented flat along with his friend Aditya Deshmukh. The night before the suicide, the companions had dinner and went to their respective rooms. When Deshmukh woke up in the morning, he saw Kamble's body hanging from the ceiling and informed the police."

Ashish had left a suicide note behind wherein he didn’t mention the reason for this act of his, but asked his parents to take care of themselves. The police are inquiring the reasons behind the suicide and are questioning close friends and relatives.

Models Go Nude For Photoshoot

This season of the show, “Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model” is reaching to a sizzling hot stage with the models ready to bare it all to win the title. The episode steams up as the beauties pose nude for a cosmetic brand All For Eve.

Leading stylist, Paul Percival, who styles Lady Gaga and Madonna, gave the ladies a complete makeover by cropping and dyeing the girl’s hair. He even dyed one girl’s hair pink! It was after this makeover that the wannabe models were informed that their next challenge

would be to strip off for a photoshoot.

With the second round of eliminations ahead, each of the 11 remaining girls is desperate to impress the judges. So much that despite nerves and worries they gear up to face the challenge. They succeed in plucking the courage to strip for the camera.

Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model is a British reality television show, aired on Sky Living channel, which has a number of women compete for the title and get a chance to start their career in the modeling industry.

Shilpa Shetty Goes Bald!

Shilpa Shetty after her wedding has been busy with her husband’s business and was not seen on screen. Now it seems Shilpa is all set to promote her upcoming film The Desire.

She is all set to shock her fans in her forthcoming film The Desire. The actress will be seen in a bald look in the film. However what is interesting to note is the fact that Shilpa didn't actually shave her head but used make-up to get the desired bald look.

The Desire, scripted and directed by R. Sarath, stars Chinese actor Xia Yu and Shilpa Shetty in lead roles while Anupam Kher, Jaya Prada, Vikram Gokhale, and Asif form the supporting cast. The film is perhaps the first Indo-Chinese collaborative production and is produced by Sunanda Shetty under the banner of Ten Golden Star, and co-produced by Shi Yun. The film has been selected to the New York City International Film Festival 2011, where it will be screened on August 24.

Shankar Ehsaan Loy and Vishwamohan Bhat have composed the music of The Desire. The film has been shot in Kerala, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Andhra Pradesh in India and also at various locales in Malaysia.

According to the reports, the latest lengthy wedding of Rashmi played by Neha Swaroopa, has grabbed a lot of eyeballs.The TRP of the show last week soared to 5.1. This wedding is going to take the story forward and all the actors are relishing the wedding sequences by retaining the authenticity if the event.

Producer Rajan Shahi says, "Yeh Ristha Kya Kehlata Hai is a show about love and life after marriage and nothing works better than marriage as audiences love the authentic nuisances of a real marriage shown realistically. The human emotional content of the show works in its favour and marriages have huge connect with masses. The marriages shown in Yeh Ristha... are not at all gimmicky. Naitik (Karan Mehra) and Akshara's(Hina Khan) marriage of 24 hours was shown in episodes for over a month and it worked out realistically and successfully garnering TRP's too. Currently, Rashmi's wedding is going on and audiences are loving every moment of it. The marriages in my shows have always been unique and lengthy, and they have been presented interestingly."

Shah Rukh Khan is very happy as he completed his most ambitious film Ra One. But the king khan’s life there seems to be something missing.

As Friendship Day is approaching, and after all the news doing the rounds of this one falling out with that one, Shah Rukh Khan revels that he has no friends.

It all happened at the wrap up party of 'Ra.One', that Shah Rukh Khan said, "Friendship Day is a beautiful day, I'm sure. But I don't have any friends!"

Shah Rukh added more on a serious note saying, "No. I'm kidding. I'll make some more friends this Friendship Day! Or, actually I won't because with friends you tend to say anything, and then the media gets busy!"

Now when his superhero action flick Ra. One is completed, SRK is also looking forward to the release of 'Don 2'. As well as Friendship day of course.

Uttaran's Ichcha To Reveal The Truth

A show can’t be on the top without the supply of constant twists and turns on regular basis. One of, Colors’, most popular show, Uttaran, will give its viewers another twist in the tale. In the upcoming episodes Ichcha (Tina Dutta) will come to know about Avinash’s reality and she will reveal it to Dadu (Sudhir Pandey).

A source says, “Ichcha has got to know about Avinash being Dadu’s real son and in the upcoming episodes she will face a dilemma whether to reveal it to Dadu or just move out of the house.

However she will go to Dadu’s room and blurt out everything assuming that he is asleep. But in spite of hearing the truth about his son Dadu will not react. Meanwhile Ichcha will continue to feel guilty of hiding the truth and later will go to confess in front of Dadu when he will tell that he already knows everything. After this Dadu and Ichcha will work together to solve Avinash’s problems.”

When contacted Tina Dutta (Ichcha) said, “I have got to know about Avinash’s truth but I will be confused whether to reveal it to Dadu or not."

Pratigya's Sajjan Singh Suffers A Heart Attack

We reported yesterday that Anupam Shyam aka Sajjan Singh of the Star Plus’ Pratigya has been suffering from low blood pressure and is hospitalised for the same. But the 54-year-old complained of chest pain on Monday due to minor stroke and was admitted to a hospital.

The entire cast and crew of Pratigya were clueless when Anupam suffered from the stroke on Monday afternoon while shooting. Apparently he had got a minor attack on Saturday but he passed it off as chest pain which led to a major attack on Monday.

His stress and continuous shooting since Saturday is said to be the reason behind this.

"We shall miss him a lot. He is an integral part of the show," a source from the channel said.

Gurudev Bhalla of Walkwater Productions said, "It was unfortunate that this happened, we have made sure that Anupam is in good hands. He has been admitted to the hospital and we are praying for his speedy recovery. "

The producers are now working on changing the storyline so that Anupma fits in when he resume the show.
